Why not use a t-post?
A t-post works where it is. However, if one has to transport it, along with a post driver into the woods or down a trail, this gets very burdensome. Not to mention, having to move the t-post if it’s not in the proper spot. With the Plot Pod, there is no need to carry heavy drivers and hammers for deployment. It’s as simple as pulling the stakes and moving the Plot Pod to its new location!
I’ve seen similar items that just stick into the ground. Why is your system better?
Unlike similar systems on the market, the tripod platform and the patent-pending feet make the Plot Pod the most versatile system on the market. Not only does the stable platform limit the amount of movement of the camera in high wind conditions, it also makes moving it to a new location more simple. There is no pulling it from the ground and driving it somewhere else. Simply unstake the Plot Pod and transport. The holes in the feet make securing the Plot Pod a simple task, even in the frozen condition of many areas in the winter. No more bending and breaking camera mounting systems — just anchor the Plot Pod with the provided stakes or use nails of your own.
How durable is it?
The Plot Pod is all aluminum so it is one of the most durable on the market. Recent tests show it has survived a dead tree falling on it, 70 MPH straight line winds, 20” blizzard, and numerous wildlife climbing on it and running into it.
Do the height of the legs adjust independently?
Yes, each leg can be adjusted separately to meet each unique situation. This make the Plot Pod very versatile in almost every situation, whether it is on the side of a mountain or down in a valley. The Plot Pod can adapt to almost every situation.
